At Small Steps Preschool, we provide nurturing, high-quality infant care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 months in a safe, stimulating, and loving environment. Our experienced educators are committed to fostering early development through engaging, age-appropriate activities designed to support cognitive, social, and physical growth.

Infant Development & Enrichment 

Our infant program is thoughtfully designed to support early milestones and foster development through enriching activities, including: 

  • Sensory Exploration: Engaging textures, sounds, and colors to stimulate curiosity
  • Language Development: Storytime, singing, and caregiver interaction to build early communication skills
  • Tummy Time & Motor Skills: Safe, supervised spaces to strengthen muscles and encourage movement
  • Music & Movement: Gentle activities to promote rhythm and coordination 

Buttercup Baby Program 

Infants at Small Steps Preschool follow our Fun Shine Express Curriculum - Buttercup Baby Program, which is tailored to meet the needs of growing minds and bodies. Through sensory exploration, play-based learning, and gentle guidance, your child will learn through fun while receiving individualized attention and care. 



With 10+ years of experience, our dedicated team ensures your little one is thriving, happy, and safe every step of the way. While we do not currently offer drop-in childcare, we do have space available! 

Younger Infant Daily Schedule 

  • Morning: Arrival, bottle feeding, cuddles, and gentle play 
  • Mid Morning: Sing-alongs, tummy time, and read-aloud stories 
  • Lunch: Bottle feeding and soothing interactions 
  • Afternoon: Nap time, sensory exploration, and rolling over practice 
  • Late Afternoon: Frequent naps, soft music, and calm engagement before pickup 


This structure keeps the day relaxed while ensuring nurturing care, developmental support, and bonding activities.

Older Infant Daily Schedule 

  • Morning: Arrival, breakfast, circle time, songs, and sensory play 
  • Mid Morning: Storytime, outdoor play, and fine motor activities 
  • Lunch: Healthy meal followed by rest time 
  • Afternoon: Snack, music and movement, and planned learning activity 
  • Late Afternoon: Free play, snack, and winding down before pickup 


This structure ensures older infants experience sensory-rich learning, movement-based play, and plenty of nurturing care throughout their day while helping them transition to a toddler routine.
